Cortlandt H. "Bud" Byron, 91, of Cabot (formerly of Ford City), died Tuesday, June 5, 2018, in Good Samaritan Hospice, Cabot. He was born March 17, 1927, in Manor Township, the son of the late Cortland R. and Nathel (Bauer) Byron. Bud served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II. He was a member of the Bethel Bible Baptist Church in Worthington. He formerly worked at P.P.G. Industries and Eljer Plumbingware, both in Ford City, and did construction work. He went to Panama to do missionary work in 1975 and returned to the U.S. in 1985 to take care of his parents.
He is survived by his children, Kenneth P. Byron of New Brighton, Linda L. Kerner of Bethel Park, David R. Byron of Sanford, FL, and Karen Wheatley of Durham, Ontario; and three grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor L. (Pore) Byron; a son, James Byron, and two grandsons Kenneth Byron and James Byron.
Family and friends are invited to attend a service at 6 p.m., Friday, at Bethel Bible Baptist Church, Worthington, with Pastor Nathan Bramlet, officiating.
