Frederick Louis Walbert III, 50, of King, NC (formerly of Ford City and Kittanning), passed away March 17, 2018, at his home.
He was born October 14, 1967, in ACMH Hospital, a son of Fred L. and Joanne A. (Gladysiewski) Walbert, Jr.
He was a 1985 graduate of Ford City High School, having played baseball and basketball all through high school. He also played baseball through college at Penn State New Kensington. Fred lived in the Ford City and Kittanning area for many years before moving to King, NC. He worked as a tool and die engineer for Precision Concept for 24 1/2 years, and was a member of St. Leo the Great Church in Winston-Salem, NC. Even after moving to North Carolina, Fred remained an avid fan of the Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins.
His memory will be cherished by his parents, Fred and Joanne; brother, Curtis (Debra) Walbert; and sister, Nicole (Jason) Fox. He is also survived by four nieces, Ashley, Ava, Addison, and Aubrey; one nephew, Cooper; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family and friends in King, NC.
Fred was preceded in death by his grandparents, Adolph D. and Sophie Gladysiewski and Fred L. and Rose Walbert, Sr.
Friends and family will be received from 6-9 p.m. Sunday, in the Welch Funeral Home, 1032 Fourth Ave., Ford City. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, at Christ, Prince of Peace Church, Ford City, with Father Alan Grote as celebrant. Everyone is asked to meet at the church on Monday.
