Georgia P. Stitt, 89, of Ford City, died Wednesday, August 8, 2018, in Kittanning Care Center.
Born February 19, 1929, in Kittanning, she was daughter of the late Ira W. and Myrtle (Grates) Smail.
Georgia attended Bible School in New York for three years. She was a member of Rosston Chapel, where she and her husband had a gospel music group on Tuesday nights. For many years, she cleaned the Latin American Club in Ford City. She also loved to go fishing and was a talented painter.
She is survived by a daughter, Paulette Miller of Ford City; two sons, Randy Johnston of Milton, FL, and Timothy Johnston of Idaho; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Edward Johnston; her second husband, Ira G. "Gil" Stitt; a son, Nathan Samuel Johnston; a sister, Marian Smail Reed; and a brother, Ralph Smail.
Friends will be welcomed from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Sunday, in the Welch Funeral Home, 1032 Fourth Ave., Ford City, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, with Pastor Jerry Johns, officiating.
