John Lloyd Law, 82, of Ford Cliff, passed away Sunday, August 5, 2018, at Butler Memorial Hospital, surrounded by loved ones.
Born January 13, 1936 in Ford Cliff, he was a son of the late James and Maria (Began) Law.
A lifelong resident of Ford Cliff, he was a staple in the community, and left his mark on many. In his early years, John worked at Allegheny Ludlum as a steelworker. He retired in 1998 after 32 years of service. He was also a life member of the Ford Cliff VFD and belonged to the Marienville Rod and Gun Club.
John spent his retirement loving life. He enjoyed going to the family camp in Marienville, which was a labor of love for him. He also enjoyed fishing, camping, sitting on his front porch, drinking Budweiser beer, and watching the Pittsburgh Pirates, Penguins, and Steelers. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and most importantly, his beautiful wife of over 60 years, Joyce.
John is survived by his wife, Joyce (Evans) Law; three sons, John (Melissa Deshler) Law of Clearwater, FL, Jeff (Denise) Law of Ford Cliff, and Joseph Law of Clearwater, FL; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, James S. Law of Decatur, IL, and Thomas (Ruth) Law of Connecticut; and three sisters, Sally (Ray) Stitt of Ford City, Annette Law of Florida, and Nancy Law of Indiana, PA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a great-grandchild, and a sister, Marian Varner.
Friends will be welcomed from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Wednesday, in the Welch Funeral Home, 1032 Fourth Ave., Ford City, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, with Rev.
