Charles A. "Catfish" Temsik, 86, of Ford City, died Friday, August 11, 2017, at Good Samaritan Hospice, Cabot.

Born February 12, 1931, in Ford City, he was a son of the late Charles E. and Josephine (Vrablic) Temsik.

A veteran of the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Army from July 31, 1952 to May 3, 1954, as a member of the 7th Infantry Division, Company B, 73rd Tank Battalion, in T-Bone, Iron Triangle, Old Baldy, Pork Chop, and White Horse. He received the Korean Service Award, with two Bronze Service Stars, the National Defense Service Medal, and the United Nations Service Medal.

He was a member of the former Holy Trinity Church.

Mr. Temsik had worked at PPG Industries, Ford City, and retired from Allegheny Ludlum Corporation. He was a former member of Ford City Hose Co. #1, and was active with its ambulance service. "Catfish" enjoyed trout fishing, and turkey and deer hunting at Belltown. He liked mushroom picking and going to airshows. He used to love going to "The Owls Nest", his camp in Elk County. He loved the Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates. He taught his grandsons how to shoot, and had alot of good times with his brother-in-law, Elmer Anthony. Mr. Temsik also enjoyed making pirohi at St. Mary's Ukrainian Church.

He is survived by his wife, Bernie (Halas) Temsik; his children, Cathy (Richard) Cousins of North Buffalo Township, Charles J. (Cynthia) Temsik of Kittanning Township, and Lisa (Terry) Anthony of North Buffalo Township; his grandchildren, Michael Anthony, Brian Anthony, Rich Cousins, Jr., and Steven Cousins, and his fiancee Nikki Batis; and three great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Temsik, and a sister, Geraldine Anthony.

Friends will be welcomed from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Tuesday, in the Welch Funeral Home, 1032 Fourth Ave., Ford City, where a blessing service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday. Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
