She was a graduate of both Tarentum High School and Clarion State Teachers College. Her teaching career began in a one-room schoolhouse in Creekside. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Charley, in 1980; two sisters, Hazel Thompson and Dorothy Kramer; and two brothers, Eddie and Jim Neely.

Friends will be welcomed from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Thursday, in the Welch Funeral Home, 1032 Fourth Ave., Ford City. I have such wonderful memories of time spent with Mickey. While I was her lawn care boy, she was often more like a 3rd grandmother to me. I greatly miss stopping by for a nice conversation but am very grateful to have known her. Condolences to Dave, Doug, and Don and your families.
