Ann S. Elvidge, 94, of Kittanning (formerly of Horsham, PA), died Friday, January 28, 2022, at Premier Armstrong Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Kittanning.
Born January 6, 1928, in Forty Fort, PA, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Jennie (Ott) Shirley.
On August 23, 1947, she married Russell P. Elvidge, with whom she shared 69 wonderful years of marriage. Russell passed away on November 3, 2016.
Ann was an exemplary woman who dedicated her life to her family. She was a doting wife and wonderful mother, who epitomized the term “homemaker”.
Her hobbies included music, dancing, swimming, water ballet, ice skating, and reading, and she was known to be an excellent seamstress.
Left to cherish her memory are her two children: Karen E. Hughes of Adrian, and James R. “Jim” Elvidge of California; and her grandchildren: Sarah Rapp, Erin Hughes, and Brandon Elvidge.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her seven siblings: Bertha, Roberta, Jane, Larry, Dick, Tom, and Jim.
In honoring Ann’s wishes, services will be held privately. She will be interred in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, alongside her dear husband. Arrangements have been entrusted to Welch Funeral Service, LLC, 1032 Fourth Ave., Ford City.
