Barbara Ann Brown

It is with profound sorrow and deep love that we announce the passing of Barbara A. Brown, age 83, of Ford City, Pennsylvania, who left this world on October 10, 2024. Surrounded by her family, Barbara passed peacefully, her unwavering spirit and love forever etched in the hearts of all who knew her.

Barbara was born on August 18, 1941, in the town she would call home her entire life. She was a pillar of the Ford City community, known for her endless kindness, her generosity, and her fierce dedication to those she loved. A woman of deep passion, Barbara’s life was one of service, love, and faith. She was the heart of her family, always putting others before herself, and her home was a place where warmth, laughter, and love could always be found. Whether it was through her famous Sunday dinners, her gentle words of wisdom, or her ability to find beauty in the simple things, Barbara made life better for everyone around her. Barbara was not only a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, but also a faithful member of Second Baptist Church, where she extended her kindness to anyone in need. Her love for her family was matched only by her love for the Lord, and she lived every day with a grace and joy that came from her deep faith.

She is survived by her beloved husband 49 years, William “Bill” Brown; her children Traci D. Woodard (Earl) of Middletown DE, and William H. Brown Jr. (Hillary) of Kittanning PA; and her grandchildren, Trejean, Nadia, Maenne, Cole, and Isaiah, who brought her so much pride and joy.

Barbara was preceded by her parents George C. Bailey, Sr., and Hattie Beatrice Bailey, and her siblings: Lula (Robert) Martin, Rosa Lee (Charles) Knight, Claude (Henry) Knight, Janet (George) Wilson, George C. Bailey Jr., Andrew Bailey, and Yvonne (Ronald) Dillard.

Viewing will be at Welch Funeral Service, LLC, 1032 Fourth Ave., Ford City, on Friday, October 18, 2024, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Final viewing on Saturday, October 19th, 2024, from 9-10 a.m. Barbara’s life will be celebrated in a service on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home, where family and friends will gather to remember her vibrant life, share stories, and honor the legacy of love one age leaves behind.  Interment will follow in Lawn Haven Burial Estates.
