Barbara J. Pierce, 79, of Bethel Township, died February 6, 2024, in UPMC Magee Women’s Hospital.
Born April 27, 1944, in Northeast, PA, she was a daughter of the late James and Velma Parmarter.
Barb was a kind woman who enjoyed reading, crocheting, and spending time with her family.
She was a member of Christ, Prince of Peace Parish, Ford City, where she had been in charge of the prayer chain for many years.
She is survived by her two daughters: Judy Gray and her boyfriend, James Guy, and Danielle (Roger, Jr.) Kromer; grandchildren: Jessica and Logan Gray, and Avery and Cole Kromer; two great-grandchildren: Ryan Brocious and Shawn Gray; and her siblings: Ray (Trudy) Parmarter, Rita (George) O’Connell, Helen (Doug) King, Susan (David) Frantz, Chuck (Darla) Parmarter, Kenny (Kelly) Parmarter, Valarie Nash, Ted Parmarter, Joan (Ben) Harmonn, and Carol (John) Sutton. She is also survived by James’ children, Teonna and Kami Guy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her dear husband, Herman Pierce.
Friends will be welcomed from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Welch Funeral Service, LLC, 1032 Fourth Ave., Ford City, where prayers of transfer will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Monday. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m., at Christ, Prince of Peace Church, with the Very Rev. Eric J. Dinga, V.F., as celebrant. Interment in Lawn Haven Burial Estates.
