Bernadine F. (Pratti) Berardinelli, 98, of Pittsburgh (formerly of Ford City), died Sunday, September 5, 2021, at Caring Heights Community Care and Rehabilitation Center, Coraopolis.
Born April 9, 1923, in Ford City, she was a daughter of the late Ceasar and Catherine (Szul) Pratti.
She was a 1942 graduate of Ford City High School, and attended New Castle Business School. She then moved to Erie to work at the G.E. plant as a “Rosie the Riveter” for the duration of World War II. Bernadine moved to Pittsburgh, where she met her future husband, William Berardinelli. They married in 1950 and moved to Cleveland. After Bill’s death in 1972, she remained in Cleveland until the early 1980s. She then relocated to Pittsburgh, where she lived until her death.
She had three brothers: Joseph Protti, Tony Pratti, Chester Pratti, and three sisters: Emily (Charles) Bower, Claudina (Victor) Skukalek, and Viola (Bernard) Adamski. They have all preceded her in death. Two infant siblings died in infancy: Vittorio and Josephine Pratti.
Her family also includes her nieces and nephews, and their families: Catherine Ann Simpson and family, Elizabeth (Robert) Patterson and family, Joseph Protti, Jr., the late Cassie (Ed) Hobaugh and family, the late Charles Patrick (Dorothy) Bower and family, Dussie (Dr. Ken) Mechling and family, the late Jerome (Salma) Bower; the late Victor (Theresa) Skukalek and family; Kathy (Ed) Klaput and family; Ed (Jackie) Skukalek and family; Ron (Sandy) Adamski and family, Rosemary (Louis) Kalinowsky and family; David (Rikki) Adamski and family, Arlene (David) Balog and family, and the late Karen Adamski.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at Christ, Prince of Peace Church, Ford City, from 9-10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., with Father Alan Grote as celebrant.
