Betty J. (Daugherty) Porter

Betty J. (Daugherty) Porter, 82, of Vandergrift (formerly of Kittanning), died Tuesday, October 31, 2017, at Fair Winds Manor.

Born January 30, 1935, in Wheeling, WV, she was a daughter of the late George L. and Lou Olive (McCracken) Daugherty.

Betty retired from the Hometown Restaurant (formerly McCool's Restaurant) in Tarentum. She enjoyed crocheting towels, playing cards, bingo, and going to the casino.

She is survived by two daughters, Charlene Arbuckle of Vandergrift, and Wendy (Regis) Mravintz of Portersville; 14 grandchildren; 26 great- grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Porter, and two daughters, Rhoda Koedel and LuAnn Porter.

Friends will be welcomed from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Friday, in the Welch Funeral Home, 1032 Fourth Ave., Ford City, where her funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday. Interment will follow in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Harrison Township.
