Carole E. Kamenski Obituary

Carole Elizabeth Kamenski, 83, of Kimball Township, Michigan, (formerly of Ford City) died Thursday, October 12, 2023, with her daughter, Carrie, at her side.

Born May 21, 1940, in New Kensington, she was a daughter of the late William and Elizabeth Aftanas. She married Robert Kamenski on November 25, 1961, in New Kensington. They were married for 50 years until his death in May 2012.

Carole spent her career in banking, starting with Mellon Bank, and eventually retiring as branch manager from Citizens Bank.

Carole was well-known for her kind-heartedness and hospitality.  Entertaining was her forte, and her home was a warm and welcoming gathering place for family and friends.  Carol was famous for her magnificent baking ability.  She operated a cookie-baking business for many years, but what she enjoyed most of all was sharing her baked “goodies” with people.

A woman strong in her Catholic faith, Carole was a devout member of Christ, Prince of Peace Parish in Ford City, where she was very active with the RCIA program and the annual mission trips to Steubenville, Ohio. After moving to Michigan, she was a member of Holy Trinity Parish - St. Stephen Catholic Church in Port Huron.

One of her greatest joys in life was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by four children, Susan Bond, Dr. Robert “Scott” Kamenski, Carrie (Michael) Roosen and Christopher Kamenski; two daughters-in-law, Ruth and Heidi; a son-in-law, Eric; seven grandchildren, Evan (Maureen) Bond, Noah Bond, Alex Kamenski (fiancé Kali Kubatka), Audrey Kamenski, Emily (Zachary) Aranyos, Ryan and Owen Kamenski; two great grandchildren, Emmett and Molly; three sisters, Patricia Starsnic, Susan (Stanley) Shemanski and Judith Lecocq; a brother, Michael (Maria) Aftanas; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, Michael Christopher Kamenski; brother, William Aftanas; and three brothers-in-law, Paul Starsnic, Roger Lecocq and John Kamenski.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at Christ Prince of Peace Parish, with The Very Rev. Eric J.
