Carolyn Alene (Waugaman) Soloski, 93, of Kittanning, died Sunday, June 18, 2023, at QLS Sugarcreek.
She was born June 19, 1929, in Garretts Run, to Charles and Anna Jane (Reichard) Waugaman, and had one sister, Andrea (Waugaman) Vidanoff. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, and her husband, Edward L. Soloski.
Carolyn and Ed married on November 10, 1950, and they had five children: two daughters: Susan Weisberger (husband, Jed) and Melissa Feldkamp (husband, Russ); and three sons: Edward Soloski, Joseph Soloski (wife, Sally); and Donald Soloski (wife, Trish). Her grandchildren were Jay, Ryan, Alison, Stephen, Christine, Patrick, Mary, Jimmy, Megan, Rebecca, and Emily. She had seven great grandchildren: George, Charlie, Parker, Grace, Ella, Mabel, and Jogues.
Carolyn was a sweet, devoted wife and mother who loved to share her love and hospitality through baking and cooking for her family and others. She enjoyed being a homemaker, making quilts, birdwatching and was very patriotic and loved our country. She was Catholic and belonged to St. Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, Kittanning.
Friends and family will be received from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, June 23rd at Welch Funeral Service, LLC, 1032 Fourth Ave, Ford City. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 24, at St. Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, Kittanning, with Rev. Ronald L. Maquinana, as celebrant. Interment will follow at Lawn Haven Burial Estates.
