Charlotte Joanne "Babs" (Waugaman) Young

Charlotte Joanne “Babs” Young, 89, formerly of Leechburg, died Sunday, December 25, 2022, at ACMH.

Born April 7, 1933, in Kittanning, she was the daughter of the late Charlotte Helene (Snyder) and Robert Wayne Waugaman.

Beloved wife and mother, cherished “Baba.” Survived by her husband, Robert Eugene “Bo” Young, son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Karen, and her precious grandchildren, bestest boy Ethan and baby girl Caroline, and two brothers, Dick and Jim. She is predeceased by four brothers, Billy, Bob, Paul and John, and one sister, Margie.

Joanne was raised primarily in Ford City and she and Bo married in 1959.  They moved to Leechburg in 1963, where she made her family’s home. They have resided at Rivercliff Terrace Annex in Kittanning since 2021. Thank you to everyone there for your care and attention.

Joanne was a dedicated daughter and sister, a supportive wife, the most loving mother ever, and a caring, wonderful friend to many. Her relationship with and her love for each of her grandchildren, however, was perhaps the most special, loving and meaningful bond of all. She will be dearly missed.

Our times together were always special and she will always be with us in our hearts and on our minds. We all love you Baba, to the moon and back. Rest well.

A celebration of Joanne’s life is to be planned.
