Cynthia Ellen Smith Obituary

Cynthia Ellen Smith, 71, of McGrann, died Sunday, May 9, 2021, in Good Samaritan Hospice, Cabot.

Born May 16, 1949, in Kittanning, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Betty (Johnston) Shannon.

Cindy was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Manorville.  She was active in the Republican Party of Armstrong County, and was a former member of the Manor Township Fire Department.  Cindy enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by three sons, Jamie C. Smith of Butler, Rick S. (Traci) Peters of Ford City, and Ryan Todd Peters of Templeton; grandchildren, Billiee M. Yant, Shannon Peters, and Bradley Peters; and her best friends, Kelly Dowling and Larassia Kammerdiener.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Smith, and her brother, Curtis Shannon.

Friends will be welcomed from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Thursday, in the Welch Funeral Home, 1032 Fourth Ave., Ford City, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, with Pastor Eric Damon officiating.  Interment will follow in Lawn Haven Burial Estates.  To share memories or condolences, please visit www.welchfh.com.
