Daniel R. Contrael, 74, of Hedgesville, WV, formerly of Ford City, passed away March 29, 2025, at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, VA.
Born October 19, 1950, he was a son of the late Henry Joseph and Grace (Carney) Contrael.
He was a graduate of Ford City High School, and was employed by Riverside Market, Ford City, as a deli/bakery manager for many years. He then worked as sales representative for Gonnella Baking Company of Schaumburg, IL.
Mr. Contrael was a member of Hagerstown Virginia Avenue Baptist Church, of which he had a music ministry of singing and playing his guitar. He enjoyed music, sports, and automobiles, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
His memory will be cherished by his loving wife of 56 years, Judy (Miller) Contrael; his children: Julie Vojna (John) of Ford City, Mark Contrael (Wendy) of Hedgesville, WV, and Eric Contrael (partner, Annie Yeargers) of Renton, WA; grandchildren: Abagale Contrael and Elizabeth Contrael; and a sister, Alma Jane Walker of Ford City.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers: James Contrael, Donnie Contrael, Donald Hollobaugh, and William Hollobaugh; four sisters, Margaret Manning, Loretta Contrael, Mary Jane Wyant, and a sister in infancy.
Friends will be welcomed on Saturday, April 12, 2025, from 1 p.m., until the time of services at 2:30 p.m., at Welch Funeral Service, LLC, 1032 Fourth Ave., Ford City. Interment will follow in Lawn Haven Burial Estates, Worthington. To share memories or condolences, please visit www.welchfh.com.
