Donald C. Smathers

Donald C. Smathers, 88, of Kittanning died Wednesday, October 16, 2024, in the ACMH Hospital.

He was born November 8, 1935 in North Buffalo Township, son of John and Vonnie (Campbell) Smathers. 

Don was a retired truck driver who enjoyed truck driving, tinkering around with scrap and attending yard sales. He has been currently living with his ex wife Judy Cappo and daughter while his house was being rebuilt.

Surviving are two daughters, Karen (Mike) Christy of Butler and Carol Fennell of Ford City, one son, David (Ana) Smathers of Bethel Township, 5 grandchildren, 8 grandchildren, two sisters, Betty Smathers of Kittanning and Roxie Smathers of Kittanning and one brother Clifford (Jane) Smathers of Kittanning.

Don was preceded in death by his parents and  two sisters, Arlene Johnson and Doris Smith.

Friends will be welcomed at the Welch Funeral Service LLC., 1032 Fourth Avenue,Ford City, on Monday, October 21, 2024 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm and where services will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at 11:00 AM. with Rev. Don Basham, officiating,
