Donnie Dean Cousins, 83, of Dayton, died Sunday, February 4, 2018, in Concordia of Ridgewood Place, Plum Boro.
Born April 24, 1934, he was a son of the late Brady Raymond and Nellie Genevieve (Sharp) Cousins.
Mr. Cousins was a member of the Elkton Presbyterian Church in Dagus Mines. He retired as a caster from Eljer Plumbingware of Ford City, and after his retirement, he became a farmer. He was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the Army.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and raising Morgan horses. He loved his animals. He also played baseball while serving in the Army.
Surviving are his children, Mark Cousins of Rural Valley, Dean Phillip (Susan) Cousins of Massachusetts, Daniel T. (Tammy) Cousins of Widnoon, Lisa M. Cousins of Big Run, Rachel M. Cousins of Dayton, Rebekah (Sana) Shaikh of Fredericksburg, VA, and Naomi (Mark) Martin of Fredericksburg, VA; 15 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and his siblings Charles (Leona) Cousins of Kittanning, Larry (Margie) Cousins of Freeport, Connie Zion of Cadogan, Honey Elaine (Dan) Zanetti of Cadogan, Terry Cousins of Rural Valley, and Loraine Cousins of Dagus Mines.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Bill Cousins, Brady Cousins, Monty Cousins, Sr., and Jake Cousins; and sisters, Patty Smith and Bonnie Thompson.
Friends will be welcomed from 7-9 p.m. Friday, and from 10 a.m., Saturday, until the time of services at 12 noon, in the Welch Funeral Home, 1032 Fourth Ave., Ford City, with Rev. James Dixon officiating. Private interment will follow in Slate Lick Cemetery.
