Doris Jean (Smith) Ortmann, 89, formerly of Kittanning, died Friday, November 12, 2021, in Good Samaritan Hospice, Cabot.
She was born in the family homestead in North Buffalo Township on July 10, 1932, to the late Kenneth Emmett and Violet Lucille (Bowser) Smith.
She was a 1951 graduate of Ford City High School, and lived most of her life in North Buffalo Township. Doris previously worked at G.C. Murphy, the Latin American Club, and The Villa.
She is survived by her children: Joyce A. (James H. Eich, Jr.) of Gibsonia, Michael E. (Peggy S. Schiebel) of Cabot, and Robin L. (Carl C. Wiles) of Cabot; her grandchildren: Alissa Mote (Stephen), Holly Lokuta (Edmund), Emily Vojtas (Joseph), James Eich III (Rachel), Nicole Cingolani, Katie Ortmann (Shannon), Jonathan Ortmann (Dana), Lena Ortmann (fiancé, Tyler), Oksana Ortmann, Eric Welton (Nicole), Sara Morgan (Kermit), and Seth Welton (Christy); and her great-grandchildren, Madalyn, Nicholas, Joseph, Jacob, Violet, James IV (due this month), Jack, Gianna, Alexander, Avery, Jaedon, Mission, Silas, and Everly. Doris is also survived by a former son-in-law, Jack Welton, and a former daughter-in-law, Debbie Brochetti.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Eugene Ortmann, to whom she was married for 42 years. Her brother, William Harold Smith, died in 2019.
