Obituary

Edward “Spike” Kijowski, 85, of Ford City, passed away on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, at ACMH Hospital.

He was born in Ford City on November 29, 1935, to the late John and Elizabeth (Schmaus) Kijowski.

Spike was a graduate of Ford City High School.  Following graduation, he enlisted in the Army.  After being discharged from the service, he married the love of his life, Lavina “Sue”.  He retired from Castle Rubber.

A faithful Catholic, he was a member of Christ, Prince of Peace Parish in Ford City.  He loved his church family and friends, and spent many years serving the kids in the cafeteria at Divine Redeemer School.

Spike loved his family.  He is survived by his children: Rose Alwine (Barry), Marie Kijowski, Gloria Young (John), Nick Kijowski (Mary Ann), and Carrie Kijowski; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death the love of his life, Sue Kijowski, to whom he was married for 64 years; and a sister, Elizabeth (Aunt Honey) Livengood.
