Emily "Betty" McGuire, 94, formerly of Ford City, died Thursday, January 3, 2019, at Heritage Meadows Personal Care Home, Rayburn Township.
She was born March 11, 1924, in Springdale Township, daughter of the late James Walter and Mary (Carter) Webster.
Emily was a member of the Appleby Manor Presbyterian Church, Ford City. During World War II, she worked at PPG Industries, Ford City. She then attended nursing school in New Kensington and became a LPN. She worked at the former Armsdale Home, Rayburn Township, and subsequently worked at both the old and new ACMH Hospital.
She is survived by her son, Richard "Ralph" (Eloise) McGuire of Vandergrift; 13 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton McGuire, in 1970; and two brothers, Robert and Richard Webster.
Friends will be welcomed from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Sunday, in the Welch Funeral Home, 1032 Fourth Ave., Ford City, and from 10 a.m., until the time of services at 11 a.m., Monday, in the funeral home.
