Florence E. "Ethel" McMillen, 87, of Kittanning, passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2023, in her home.
Born December 7, 1935, in Manor Township, she was a daughter of Edgar Paul Miller and Bessie Vera Claypoole.
Ethel was a member of the North Buffalo Grace Brethren Church. She was a 1953 graduate from Elderton High School, and was employed as a legal secretary for 43 years. She worked for David Suckling, Chappy Jones for seven years, and Callas & Graff for 17 and 1/2 years.
She worked with her husband Jim at their business McMillen's Trophy Shop in Rayburn Township. She enjoyed both vegetable and flower gardening, camping and canning.
Mrs. McMillen is survived by two sons: Mark A. McMillen of Kittanning, and David J. (Karsey) McMillen of North Ridgeville, OH; her grandchildren: Brandin A. McMillen, Gabrielle S. McMillen, Cherrea L. McMillen, Samuel T. McMillen, and Joseph D. McMillen; a brother, William Daniel Miller of Monroeville; a sister, Janet Stitt of Bensalem; and her longtime friend, Yvonne Hogg.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Grace Cousins, for the care she provided to Ethel.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Ronald McMillen.
Friends will be welcomed from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, at Welch Funeral Service, LLC, 1032 Fourth Ave., Ford City, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday. Interment will follow in Brick Church Cemetery, Burrell Township. To share memories or condolences, please visit www.welchfh.com.
