Frank J. "Mo" Mazurek, 85, of Ford City, died Monday, September 16, 2024, at UPMC St. Margaret.
Born December 8, 1938, in Kittanning, he was a son of the late Frank Paul and Ann (Hrabovsky) Mazurek.
Mo was a member of Christ, Prince of Peace Church, and the former St. Francis of Paola Church.
Known by many, he was a very familiar face in the Ford City community, where he was a mailman for 42 years. A kind, loving, and selfless man, he made many sacrifices for his family. He enjoyed golfing with Judge Nickleach, Angelo Scopel, and Dan Gahagan, and was proud of his holes in one. Mo loved spending time with his family, and following his grandchildren's sporting events. He was a fan of the Pittsburgh sports teams, and loved politics.
He is survived by his wife, Valerie Ripple; three daughters: Malena Mazurek of North Versailles, Selina Angelo of Las Vegas, NV, and Regina (Tony) Rizzardo of McDonald; three grandchildren: Alex Rizzardo, Ethan Rizzardo, and Grace Angelo; a stepson, Steven Ripple of Etna; a stepdaughter, Kimberly (Derek) Hardin of Bluffton, SC; two stepgrandchildren, Evie and Jax Hardin; his brother, Ron (Nancy) Mazurek of Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be welcomed from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, at Welch Funeral Service, LLC, 1032 Fourth Ave., Ford City. Prayers of transfer will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, in the funeral home, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., at Christ, Prince of Peace Church, with The Very Rev. Eric J. Dinga, V.F., as celebrant. Private interment will take place in Holy Trinity Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to Friends of Flight 93, P.O.
