Genevieve Ziemenski, 95, formerly of Ford City, died Friday, January 12, 2018, in Meadow Lake Manor, Sugarcreek Township.
She was born July 6, 1922, in Glassmere, PA, a daughter of the late William and Leona (Garbowski) Tyberowski.
Mrs. Ziemenski was a member of Christ, Prince of Peace Church, Ford City, and a former member of St. Francis of Paola Church, Ford City. She was a registered nurse and worked for Dr. Samuel Black until his death. She then worked for Dr. Roger Vega.
She was a very active member of the Polish Falcons, Nest 159 of Ford City. She enjoyed bowling, sewing and gardening, and was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Mago of Butler; her son, Theodore "Tudge" Ziemenski of Worthington; one grandson, Christopher (Jessica) Mago; and four great-grandchildren, Korbin, Thaddeus, Meredith, and Eleanor Mago.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gearhart Ziemenski; three brothers, Chester, Joseph and Tony Tyberowski; and one sister, Stella Palczar.
Friends will be welcomed from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, in the Welch Funeral Home, 1032 Fourth Ave., Ford City. Prayers of transfer will be offered at 9:30 a.m., Thursday, in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., at St. Lawrence Church, Cadogan, with Father Alan Grote, as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Francis Cemetery.
