George W. Adams, 67, of Ford City, died Thursday, June 10, 2021 in the VA Medical Center, Aspinwall.
He was born October 18, 1953, in Kittannning.
George was of the Protestant faith. He served in the Army from 1978 to 1995, and was an instructor at Fort Indiantown Gap. He was a former volunteer fireman at Franklin Park, NJ, and was a truck driver for Harrisburg Dairies.
He enjoyed carpentry work and building things, attending flea markets and antiquing. He also loved taking care of his mother.
Geroge is survived by his mother, Nancy E. Heilman of Ford City; a daughter, Jessica Anderson of Kittanning; two sons, Josh (Joanna) Adams of Ford City and Charles (Anisa) Adams of Lancaster; three grandchildren, Remington, Anna and Finn; and five brothers, Ronald (Vickie) Stitt of Tarentum, Terry (Joanne) Adams of East Brunswick, NJ, Jeffrey Adams of Ford City, Keith (Barbara) Heilman of Kittanning and Philip (Kimberly) Heilman of Ford City.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Heilman, and one daughter, Jennifer Adams.
At George's request, there will be no public visitation or services. He will be laid to rest in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Welch Funeral Home, 1032 Fourth Ave., Ford City. To share memories or condolences, please visit www.welchfh.com.
