Glenna Lou (Lewis) Colwell, 89, of Kittanning Township, passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at Kittanning Care Center.
She was born August 25, 1932, in Ford City, to the late George M. and Blanche A. (Reefer) Lewis.
Glenna attended Elderton and Garretts Run grade schools, and graduated from Ford City High School in 1951. She worked in the office at PPG Works 4 in Ford City, Armstrong Telephone Company in Kittanning, as a payroll clerk, and retired in 1992 from the Armstrong County Board of Assistance, where she worked as a caseworker for more than 22 years.
She was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Kittanning.
Glenna married Elmer J. Colwell on December 22, 1954, at the Ford Memorial United Methodist Church in Ford City. They were married for 59 years before Elmer passed away. They had two daughters, Lucinda “Cindy” K. Colwell and Judy E. Colwell, both of Kittanning Township.
Glenna enjoyed reading, needle crafts, word search puzzles, and jigsaw puzzles. She loved cats and dogs her entire life. She did genealogy research on her family, discovering her family originated from the British Isles and Germany. Glenna loved and did anything for her family.
She is survived by her daughters; four nieces; three nephews; and their extended families from the Colwell side.
Glenna is now reunited with her parents; her husband, Elmer; her sister, Arvena M. Lewis; her brother, George C.L. Lewis; her dogs, Rusty and Shadow; and her cats, Sabrina and Timmy.
Friends will be welcomed from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Sunday, at Welch Funeral Service, 1032 Fourth Ave., Ford City, where a service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday. Interment will follow in Lawn Haven Burial Estates. To share memories or condolences, please visit www.welchfh.com.
