Grace G. Carpen, 96, of Ford City, died Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at Concordia Lutheran Ministries, Cabot.
Born February 26, 1928, in Kittanning, she was a daughter of the late Theodore and Violet (Mulligan) Klingensmith.
Many years ago, Mrs. Carpen worked in the cafeteria at PPG Industries, Ford City. She enjoyed painting ceramic and wooden crafts, crocheting, cooking, and baking.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda (Ernesto) Carboney of Silver Springs, MD; a son, Thomas Peter (Linda) Carpen of Middletown; her grandchildren Robert (Kathryn) Carpen and Heather Carpen, two great-grandchildren, Siannah Sewell and Emma Carpen; a sister, Margaret "Peggy" Zazula; and two sisters-in-law, Joan Davis, and Margaret "Tootie" Carpen.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald P. "Bus" Carpen; a daughter, Donna Carpen; a sister, Clara Wolfe; and two brothers, Keith and Richard Klingensmith.
Friends will be welcomed from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Welch Funeral Service, LLC, 1032 Fourth Ave., Ford City, where a service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday. Interment will follow in Lawn Haven Burial Estates. To share memories or condolences, please visit www.welchfh.com.
