Harriet H. (Utley) Tritola

Harriet H. (Utley) Tritola, 84, of Ford City, died on Monday, August 29, 2022, in Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia.

Born August 15, 1938, in Brooklyn, New York, she was a daughter of the late Harry D. and Helen Rita (Kremenski) Utley.

She was a 1956 graduate of Ford City High School.

Harriet was an active and devout member of Christ, Prince of Peace Parish in Ford City.  She held various positions within the parish, and was also an instrumental part of the RCIA program.

Showing compassion and concern for others was something that came naturally to Harriet.  She was a private duty caregiver to many people.

An excellent cook and baker, Harriet was especially known for her famous cream puffs. She enjoyed watching Jeopardy, working crossword puzzles, reading, and watching the Steelers.

She is survived by two sons: Andrew Butela (Jodi) and Michael Butela (Diane); 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three sisters: Patricia Salsgiver-Bowser (Arnie), Georgia Zablocki Furlong (Jim); and Audrey Cacurak (Bob); a niece; 7 nephews; and 3 “granddogs”.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Andrew Butela; her second husband, Salvatore “Doc” Tritola; a son, David Scott Butela; and two brothers-in-law, Bill Salsgiver and Theodore “Doc” Zablocki.

A private viewing and Mass of Christian Burial will be held for her immediate family at Christ, Prince of Peace Parish, Ford City.  Her pastor, The Very Rev. Eric J. Dinga, V.F., will celebrate the Mass.  Interment will take place in Ford City Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ, Prince of Peace Parish, 718 Fourth Ave., Ford City.  Arrangements are in the care of Welch Funeral Service, LLC, 1032 Fourth Ave., Ford City.  To share memories or condolences, please visit www.welchfh.com.
