Jacqueline Lee Fijal, 85, of Kittanning (formerly of Ford City), died Sunday, October 10, 2021, at home.
Born December 13, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Bernard Thomas and Martha Yvonne (Carl) Crawford.
Mrs. Fijal retired from Moonlight Mushrooms after 28 years of service.
She was a member of Christ, Prince of Peace Parish, Ford City.
Jackie was quite the civic leader in Ford City. She served many years on the Ford City Borough Council, and was one of the founders of the annual Heritage Days. As a committee woman for Heritage Days, she took her role very seriously. The entire week of the festival, Jackie practically lived at the Ford City Park, having been active with the parade, working in the information booth, and running the bingo tent.
A passionate animal lover, she always had a houseful of animals and would always take in a stray. She enjoyed shopping and spending time with her family and grandchildren. Jackie loved a good junket to Las Vegas with her husband and friends.
She is survived by her two children: Cindy Robertson (Chad) and John Michael “Mike” McCall (Rachel), both of Kittanning; her grandchildren: Kiera Spang (Jeff), Erika Watt (Bryce), Nina Graziano (Timmy), Brenda Stephens (James), Ashley McCall, Justin Leightley, Chad Bennett, and Carolyn Bennett; her great-grandchildren: Paige, Jaisa, Jalen, Sydney, Isaiah, Maia, Mason, Deva, Kyler, Addisyn, Alexia, Keaton, Alex, Cain, Noah, Dylan, Erni, Kaden, Mason, Calia, Rumbler, and Coco; and a great-great-grandson, Braxton. Her best friend, Connie Phillippi, also survives.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry “Hank” Fijal, a grandson, Kenneth Bennett, and a grandson-in-law, Matthew Conroy.
