Jane Darlene Rashlich

Jane Darlene (Montgomery) Rashlich, 79, of Ford City, died Monday, November 24, 2025.

Born March 25, 1946, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Harriet (Cornman) Montgomery.  She married Joseph “JJ” Rashlich on October 9, 1969.  They resided in Ford City (Manor Township) and raised two daughters.

Jane is survived by daughters, Kathleen Rashlich of Ford City, and Jill (Jonathan) Hixson of Alexandria, VA; grandchildren, Nora and Ian Hixson of Alexandria, VA; a sister, Pamela Kimmel of Wilmington, NC; a brother, David (Joan) Montgomery of Worthington; sister-in-law, Kay Montgomery of Kittanning; sister-in-law, Nancy (Timothy) Pollack of Walkersville, MD; and three generations of nieces and nephews.  She was blessed with many close friends and especially treasured the family relationship with the Armentrout and Carnahan families.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe; her parents; her in-laws, Frank and Anne Rashlich, formerly of Ebensburg; a brother, Robert Montgomery; a nephew, Terry Montgomery; and a brother-in-law, Barry Kimmel.

She was a proud member of Kittanning High School Class of 1965 and enjoyed planning and attending their class reunions.  Jane was a member of Christ Rupp Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday school for over 50 years.  She was involved in the Armstrong County Relay for Life and was a lifetime member of the Ford City VFW Auxiliary.

Jane was an excellent cook and well-known for her cabbage and noodles.  She enjoyed crafting and sewing, and always made fun and creative Halloween costumes.

Due to her very strict instructions, there will be no public viewing.  A funeral service will be held at 12 Noon Saturday at Christ Rupp Lutheran Church, with Rev. Matthew Vatalare officiating.  The family will greet friends at the church beginning at 11 a.m.  Interment will follow the service in Christ Rupp Lutheran Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Christ Rupp Lutheran Church.  Arrangements are in the care of Welch Funeral Service, LLC, 1032 Fourth Ave., Ford City.  To share memories or condolences, please visit www.welchfh.com.
