Janice Eileen "Dewey" Thompson Almada, 74, of Ford City, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at her residence.
She was born August 10,1951, in Connellsville, a daughter of the late Cloyd and Ruby (Taylor) Hileman. After her mother's passing, she was adopted by her stepmother, Evelyn Hileman.
Janice was a 1969 graduate of Ford City High School, earned her bachelor's degree from IUP in 1973, and later earned her master's degree.
She "jack of all trades", having held many positions throughout the years. She enjoyed gardening, reading, photography, sewing, poetry, and music, and was a master of "chat locking." Janice loved her dogs, especially Reggie, her golden retriever. Her dogs were all trained service dogs.
She is survived by her children: Aaron (Jaime) Thompson, Jared Thompson, and Jessica Thompson, all of Ford City; her grandchildren: Anthony, Haley, Madelline, Liam, and Emma; her brother, Keith (Alice) Hileman of Limestone; her sister, Carol Cornish of Ford City; and alot of extended family and friends, including Laura, Con Con, Evelyn, and Steve.
At Janice's request, no public visitation or services will be held. Arrangements have been entrusted to Welch Funeral Service, LLC, 1032 Fourth Ave., Ford City.
