Jay Levi Schreckengost, 91, of East Brady, died Sunday, November 19, 2023 at his residence.
He was born in Kittanning, son of the late Jay L. and Margaret (Myers) Schreckengost,Sr.
Jay was a member of the Family Worship Center, Baton Rouge, LA. He formerly worked at Pullman-Standard of Butler, worked doing both road and house construction and then became a truck driver for many years.. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the Air Force.
He enjoyed doing upholstery work, driving truck, fishing, boating and camping. He collected 1/24 scale automobiles and motorcycles
Surviving are his wife, Judith A (Forringer) Schreckengost of East Brady, children, Jayne Schreckengost of Kittanning, Jeanne Schreckengost of Kittanning, Bill Schreckengost of Kittanning, William (Barb) Richard of Vandergrift, and Barb (Ed) Corbin of Chippewa Twp., two sisters, Sandy Arblaster of Kittanning and Jill Klingensmith of Erie,
Jay was preceded in death by his father, two sons, Jay Michael Schreckengost and Wayne Richard and sister, Joyce Stafford, sister, Gloria Bowser, brother, Jack Schreckengost, sister, Betty Shankle and infant sister Martha.
Following Jay's request there will be no public visitation or funeral service. His funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Welch Funeral Service LLC, 1032 Fourth Avenue, Ford City. He will be buried in the Cemetery of the Allegheny's.
