John H. Daquilante Obituary

John H. Daquilante, 86, of Plumcreek Township, died Thursday, May 27, 2021, in ACMH Hospital.

Born May 25, 1935, in Caldwell, PA, he was a son of the late Anthony and Isabella (Chemelli) Daquilante.

He was a veteran of both the U.S. Army and Air Force, and served as a cook for the National Guard until 1995.  He was employed by Lowden Supply in Kittanning.

Mr. Daquilante was of the Catholic faith.  He had been a beneficial member of the Latin American Club in Ford City since 1983, and served as a trustee there for 25 years.  He was a past member of the Kittanning Lions Club and the Knights of Columbus.  

John enjoyed cooking, making and smoking different kinds of meats, making homemade sauerkraut, and mushroom hunting.  He liked spending time with friends at the Latin American Club, and loved being with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his children: Julie Daquilante of Clearfield, Angie (Craig) Davis of Ford City, Melissa Daquilante of Bloomsburg, Michael (Gwen) Daquilante of Shelocta, and Brian (Monica) Daquilante of Tionesta; his grandchildren: Eric Davis (Heidi Szymanski), Stephanie Davis (Edwin Amador), and Tanner and Olivia Daquilante; his siblings: Elvera (Dale) Koehnke, Bernadette Daquilante, Mary Jane Monnot, Robert (Cheri) Daquilante, Dan (Lisa) Daquilante, and Rudolph (Sheri) Daquilante; and numerous nieces & nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife, Dolores Daquilante; two brothers, Anthony and Joseph; and a sister, Ruth.

Friends will be welcomed from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, in the Welch Funeral Home, 1023 Fourth Ave., Ford City, where a blessing service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday.  Father Alan Grote will officiate.  Interment will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, with military honors accorded by the Armstrong County Honor Guard.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Latin American Beneficial Society in Ford City.  To share memories or condolences, please visit www.welchfh.com.
