Joseph M. "Quake" Szalankiewicz, Jr., 73, of Ford Cliff, passed away Monday, October 20, 2025, at West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh.
He was born October 11, 1952, in Kittanning, a son of the late Joseph M. and Dorothy (McIntyre) Szalankiewicz.
Joe was a member of the Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church, Mt Zion, IL. He worked for PPG Industries in both Ford City and Mt. Zion, IL, for 42 years, retiring in 2014. He was a former member of the Ford City Lions Club and the Kittanning and Decatur, IL Elks Club. He was past president of the Kittanning-Ford City Men's Bowling Association and was a member of the Ford City Eagles. He was an avid golfer and bowler and was a member of the Hole-in-One Club.
Surviving are his wife, Jacqueline (Faulx) Szalankiewicz; his son, Joseph L. Szalankiewicz; his daughter, Jillian J. Szalankiewicz (Deborishus McDade), sisters, Linda (Leo) Kamer and Sherry (James) Crispen; his brother, Keith (Tina) Szalankiewicz; a brother-in-law, Louis "Bud" Faulx; and a sister-in-law, Billie Jean Kinnard.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, his in laws, Mr. & Mrs. Louis D. Faulx, niece, Carolyn Kinnard, brother-in-law, Herb Kinnard, and his "grandpups", Blue and Steele.
Friends will be welcomed at the Welch Funeral Service LLC., 1032 Fourth Avenue, Ford City, from 2-4 and 6-7 p.m., Monday, October 27, 2025.
