Judith “Judy” Ann Harriger, 83, of Ford City, passed away at home on May 26, 2026. A devoted mother, grandmother, friend, and woman of faith, she lived a life centered on Jesus, family, and fellowship.
Born on February 27, 1943, in Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, Judy was the daughter of the late Herbert Blair McCollim and Grace Ellen (Quinn) McCollim. On October 20, 1962, she married her husband, Rev. Allen L. Harriger, Sr., who preceded her in death on May 17, 2002. Judy was a 1962 graduate of Ford City High School. Judy was a homemaker, in-home caregiver, and employee of Nancy’s bakery in Kittanning.
Judy is survived by her three sons, Allen (Darci) of Ford City, Gary (Elizabeth) of Mechanicsburg, and Dennis (Laurie) of Kittanning; her grandchildren, Tabitha (Randy) Bowser of Worthington, Brandon Harriger of Freeport, Caleb Harriger of Kittanning, and Sara Harriger of Kittanning; her great-grandchildren, Lucas and Camryn Bowser of Worthington; her sisters-in-love, Geraldine McCollim of Plum, Bernice Harriger of Mercer, and Hope Millward of Clover, South Carolina; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Judy was preceded in death by her brother Kenneth McCollim, her sisters Jean Croyle, Hazel Guthrie, and Grace Schall, and her granddaughter Rachel Lin Harriger.
Judy’s greatest joy came from time spent with family — whether gathered at the family pavilion, sitting around the fire, celebrating holidays, attending special events such as baseball games and dance recitals, or playing games.
A faithful member of her church community, Judy found great purpose in serving Jesus through church activities including being a Sunday School teacher, a prayer chain member, and a board member. Her faith guided her daily life and touched everyone who knew her.
Following the loss of her beloved husband, she was led to form a widows’ fellowship group. The companionship and shared faith of that community brought her comfort and joy, and she treasured the meaningful relationships formed there. She loved her “widow ladies”!
Judy loved organizing the annual McCollim family reunion and spending time with all who gathered that day. She also loved organizing and attending her monthly class luncheons. Judy thoroughly enjoyed vacationing and playing cards with her lady friends. Some of Judy’s fondest memories were made while camping.
