Karen Tregaskes, 81, of Kittanning (formerly of Worthington), died Sunday, August 11, 2024, at Armstrong Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Kittanning.
Born June 26, 1943, in Rural Valley, she was a daughter of the late David J. and Violet (Pisoni) Tregaskes.
Karen was a registered nurse, having first worked at The Cleveland Clinic. Most of her career, however, was spent as the nursing supervisor at the Armstrong County Health Center, from which she retired.
She was a member of St. Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Kittanning. Karen also belonged to the American Legion in Naples, FL, the Florida Nurses Association, the American Nurses Association, and St. Leo’s Alumni Association.
Her hobbies included sewing, reading, and of course, traveling.
She is survived by a brother, Joseph (Patty) Tregaskes; her niece, Bobbi (William) Zimmerman; numerous nieces, nephews, and family members; and many friends.
Family and friends are welcome to attend a Memorial Mass at 11 a.m. Monday, at St. Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, Kittanning, with The Very Rev. Eric J. Dinga, V.F., as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Ford City. In lieu of flowers, it was Karen’s wish that memorial contributions be made to Orphans of the Storm or the American Cancer Society.
