Karen Louise Beck

Karen Louise Beck, 79, of Ford City died Saturday, September 3, 2022 in the ACMH Hospital.

She was born May 5, 1943 in Bethel Township, daughter of the late Howard and Dorothy Irene (Shearer) Hynick.

 Karen was a very active member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Kittanning. She was employed by Med Staffers of Ford City.

She enjoyed working puzzles, canning, gardening and baking.

Surviving are sons, John (Michele) Beck of Gloucester, VA,, David (Rebecca) Beck of Ford City and Steven Beck of Ford City, one daughter, Sarah Shriver of Ford City, sister, Francis Beere of Ford City, brother, Leonard Hynick of Bethel Township, brother, Robert Hynick of MI, brother, Andrew Hynick of FL, six grandchildren, Elizabeth Peate, Stephanie Beck, Alexandra Atwood, Chelsea Brock,  Maegon DeBoe, McKinnley Shriver. and three great grandchildren.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John Beck, who died December 22, 1986, two sisters, Virginia Mae Smolen and Judith Forringer and one brother, George Hynick.

Friends will be welcomed at Welch Funeral Service LLC, 1032 Fourth Avenue, Ford City, on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Additional visitation will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church, Kittanning, from 9 a.m., until the time of services at 10 a.m., with Rev. Carl Johnson officiating.  Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery, Altoona, PA.
