Katherine Annella Wright

Katherine Annella Wright, 53 (though she didn't look it), of Cadogan, died Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at ACMH Hospital.

Katie was born May 20, 1969, in Pittsburgh, daughter of Denise (Luchesa) Sedok and the late Ralph Burdett.

She has left a lot family to grieve for her. Her daughter, Persephone Wright, and her husband, Ken Wright; her mother, Denise Sedok, and her step-father,Tom Sedok; her sister, Lisa Huber, and brother-in-law, Greg Huber; as well as many extended family.

She has gone to see loved ones that have passed. Notably, her brother, John Thomas Sedok, who passed only days before her; and her grandfather, John Luchesa. She thought regularly about beloved family that had passed, and she’ll now be able to see them all again.

She was a loving wife and mother. Taking care of her family and seeing them happy was perhaps her greatest joy in life. The world was not always kind to Katie, but Katie was always kind to the world. She was stubborn, and a fighter, and she did not sit idly by when others needed defending.

I don't think I've ever known another person who could make friends as quickly and easily as Katie. Combining that with living in the same area most of her life meant that she had a positive influence on countless lives, and every time she left the house, she would run into people excited to see her again.

She was obsessively interested in photography. She thought it was super important to capture the memories of her loved ones (whether they liked it or not). Her photos were windows to past emotions, and she cherished them greatly.

She was superstitious, loved mysteries, and was a bit of a nerd (though she would never admit it). Her favorite season was fall, and she looked forward to it as soon as it ended.

Her greatest legacy is the love that she gave to so many people. She was smart, funny, beautiful, strong, and perhaps most importantly, kind. She was a treasure, and the world is poorer for losing her, while being richer for having known her.
