Kathryn J. Leinweber

Kathryn J. Leinweber, 87, of McGrann, died Saturday, January 7, 2023, at her home.

She was born June 4, 1935, in Kittanning, to the late Joseph W. and  Mary Alice (Hansel) Harosky.

Kathryn was a former member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Ford City.  She had a lot of faith in God and was very strong. She was a former member of the Ford City VFW and Latin American Club.

She was a majorette for Ford City High School, from which she graduated in 1953. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and Word Scape on Facebook. She enjoyed going out to eat and going to Baer Beauty to get her hair done.  She loved coffee, especially when being with company.  She loved her children and grandchildren dearly, and always waited on Saturdays for her daughter, Kathyanne, to visit and take her for walks.  She always looked forward to visits from her other children from out-of-town.

She is survived by a son, John E. (Heidi) Leinweber of Jasper, TX; three daughters: Kathyanne Leinweber (Rocky) of Ford City, Debbie (Dave) Bracken of Shelby, NC, and Charmayne (Brock) Cedars of North Richland Hills, TX; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren, plus another one on the way.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Leinweber; two sisters, Ruth E. Prisner and Thelma E. Walker; one brother, Joseph Harosky; and her companion of 15 years, Dwight L. Weigand.

Friends will be welcomed from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, at Welch Funeral Service, LLC, 1032 Fourth Ave., Ford City, where a funeral service will take place at 11 a.m., Thursday.  Interment will follow in Mateer Cemetery, Boggs Township.  To share memories or condolences, please visit www.welchfh.com.
