Kenneth R. Peters

Kenneth R. Peters, 75, of Ford City, died Sunday, January 12, 2025, at UPMC Mercy.

Born April 30, 1949, in Kittanning, he was a son of the late Richard H. and Leota (Coulton) Peters.

He was a member of First Church of Ford City. Ken belonged to the Ford City Eagles since 1988, and a was a life member of Ford City VFW.  He lived to work.  He was employed by Manor Township Municipal Authority for many years, and also worked as a bartended for several local restaurants.  After retirement, Ken worked at Welch Funeral Service, LLC, in Ford City. Ken's main hobbies were his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ken is survived wife, Cheryl A. (Robinson) Peters of Ford City; his daughter, Kristie Fennell (Rick) of McGrann, his son, Kenneth R. Peters II (Carrie) of Evans City; his grandchildren: Michael (Cierra) Fennell, Matthew (Melanie) Fennell, Kendall Peters, and Kaci Peters; his great-grandchildren, Mia Gray and Christopher Fennell; and a brother, James Peters. 

In addition to his parents, his was preceded in death by a grandson, Christopher.

Visitation and services will be held privately.  Interment will follow in Lawn Haven Burial Estates.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mechling-Shakley Veterans Center.  Arrangements are entrusted to Welch Funeral Service, LLC, 1032 Fourth Ave., Ford City.  To share memories or condolences, please visit www.welchfh.com.
