Mabel S. (Voelkel) Stewart, 98, of Kittanning, died Tuesday, December 19, 2017, in ACMH Hospital.
She was born September 24, 1919, in Templeton, daughter of Paul and Emma (Brison) Voelkel.
Mabel was of the Methodist Faith. She worked in the Diplomat in Hollywood, FL, for 30 years. She has lived all over the U.S., as a military wife.
She enjoyed having people visit, especially her family; and was always concerned for her family and was always trying to help.
Surviving are three daughters, Betty (Norman, Jr.) Huselton of Ford City, Joan Peppler of Lower Burrell and Linda (Gary) Acker of Rochester, NY; 10 grandchildren, Debra (Eric) McKean, Travis (Monica) Peppler, Vincent (Nancy) Peppler, Mary Ann (Marlin) Jackson, Norman Huselton III, Dana (Tom) Hornack, Kelly Acker, Amy (Jay) Mayo, Brad Acker and Jeff (Leanne) Acker; 14 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Mabel was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Harry J. Myers; her second husband, Harvey Stewart; brothers, Gillis, Finney and Paul Voelkel; sisters Carrie Myers, Pearl Crissman, Agnes DeHarper and Gladys Unger; and and son-in-law, Donald Peppler.
Friends will be welcomed at the Welch Funeral Home, Ford City, on Thursday, December 21, 2017, from 10 a.m., until the time of services at 1 p.m., with Pastor Bill Wilson, officiating. Interment will follow in Ford City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the First Church of Ford City, 410 Tenth St. Ford City, PA 16226.
