Marian A. Lease Obituary

Marian A. Lease, 97, formerly of Ford City, died Saturday, April 24, 2021, in Heritage Meadows Personal Care Home, Rayburn Township.

Born October 20, 1923, in Ford City, she was a daughter of the late Earl and Marie (Bailey) Artman.

Marian was a member of the First Church of Ford City.  She graduated from Ford City High School in 1941, and attended Robert Morris College.  She worked at Peoples Bank of Ford City as a teller for many years, and then worked in the Armstrong County Treasurer's Office for Ray Heilman.  She also formerly owned an antique shop in Emlenton.

She loved to play Bridge and was a member of several Bridge clubs.  She also enjoyed gardening and raising flowers. Most importantly, Marian loved being a grandmother and great-grandmother, and loved her dogs and cats.

She is survived by her daughter, Marjorie (Merwyn) Guthrie of Kittanning; her granddaughter, Jennifer (Christopher) McKelvey of Stephens City, VA; and her great-grandson, Gavin McKelvey.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, V. Glenn Lease; her son, Miles Eric Lease; and one sister, Lucille Stretch.

At Mrs. Lease's request, there will no public visitation.  A private service will be held for her immediate family, with interment in Appleby Manor Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
