Marion D. "Mae" Crissman, 96, of Ford City, died Wednesday, September 13, 2017, in ACMH Hospital.
Born August 7, 1921, in Bridgeburg, East Franklin Township, she was a daughter of the late Andrew C. and Blanche (Leasure) Ruffner.
Mrs. Crissman was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Ford City, and was very active with the Von Bora Society. She was instrumental in starting the food bank at Ford Memorial United Methodist Church, was a former Democratic jury commissioner for Armstrong County, and was a former member of the Rebekah Lodge.
Mae is survived by two daughters, Linda Stivason (Gary) of Ford City, and Nancy Lasher McCue (Ken) of Sugarcreek Township; a son, Edward (Barbara) Crissman of Erie; her grandchildren, Roxanne Bowers, Tami Kennedy, Eric Lasher, Leslie Stivason, and Cindy Bandura; and 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Paul B. Crissman, in 1991; a grandson, Rory Edward Crissman, in 2003; a brother, John E. Ruffner; and a sister, Vesta M. Croyle.
Friends will be welcomed from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Friday, and from 9:30-10:30 a.m., Saturday, in the Welch Funeral Home, 1032 Fourth Ave., Ford City. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, in St. John's Lutheran Church, Ford City, co-officiated by her great-grandson, Rev. Tyler Bandura, Rev. Philip Ramstad, and Rev. Jack Delk. Interment will follow in Croyle Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, Ford City.
