Mark “Stan” Kijowski, 68, of Ford City, died Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh.
He was born April 21, 1953, a son of Stanley and Dorothy (Volek) Kijowski.
Stan worked at Eljer Plumbingware in Ford City for 20 years. He was then employed by KPM in Ford City, until his retirement in January 2020.
Mark was well-known in the community as a friendly, hard-working man. He was a familiar face in Ford City, known for always walking around town, and having friendly conversations with those he met along the way. In his younger years, he was a “pin boy” at the C.U. Club in Ford City. He was a member of the Polish Falcons and the NRA. An avid sports fan, he loved watching the Pirates and the Steelers. He also enjoyed fishing and gardening.
He was selfless, and was a wonderful son, brother, uncle, and friend. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Stan was preceded in death by his father.
Surviving are his mother, Dorothy (Volek) Kijowski of Ford City; his brothers: Kevin (Tammy) Kijowski of Kittanning, Keith (Janet) Kijowski of Butler; and his sisters: Kathleen (Terry) Macurdy of Sarver, Amy Kijowski of Ford City, and Beth (Jim) Panchik of Worthington. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Lucas (Maria) Kijowski, Lacey (Shaun) Pyle, Landon Kijowski, Emily and Eric Macurdy, Andrea (Casey) Cousins, Hannah (Chris) Arndt, and Gretchen, Nicholas, Yuri, and James Panchik; and his great-nieces and nephews, Carly, Maks, Sadie, Nora and Leo; Noah and Roman; Banks and Bates; and Brooks.
Stan also leaves behind many friends, including Dan Kerr, John Sheaffer, Marc Milito, and Kirby Nathaniel, and his loyal neighbor, Sandy Hutchison.
Friends will be welcomed from 4-8 p.m., Friday, at Welch Funeral Service LLC, 1032 Fourth Ave., Ford City, where a blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, with Father Eric Dinga officiating. Interment will follow in St. Francis Cemetery. Due to health concerns, the family is requiring masks to be worn by all guests at the visitation and service.
