Mary Ann Sue Ann (Berdell) Shannon

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mary Ann Sue Ann (Berdell) Shannon, 89, of Arlington, TX (formerly of Ford City, PA), who went to be with our Lord on Thursday, September 18, 2025. Mary Ann passed away at home surrounded by her family.

Born February 24,1936, in Ford City, PA, Mary Ann was the daughter of the late Michael Berdell and Susan (Wojton) Berdell.

Mary Ann was a huge fan of the Dallas Cowboys and loved to go to WinStar in Oklahoma a couple times a year to play the slot machines.

She loved her children and grandchildren, and was blessed to live to enjoy time with her great-grandchildren.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Robert D. Shannon Sr., her brothers, John Berdell and Stanley Berdell, and sisters, Pauline (Berdell) Dinus and Mildred (Berdell) Talotta.

Mary Ann is survived by her children, Susan Shannon of Arlington, TX, and Robert (Pam) Shannon, Jr., of Kittanning; her grandsons, Chris (Becky) Shannon of Kittanning, Nicholas Shannon of Kittanning, and Greg (Alyssa) Benjamin, Jr. of Arlington, TX, and her great-grandchildren, Aiden Benjamin and Oliver Benjamin of Arlington, TX.

Friends will be welcomed from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, at Welch Funeral Service, LLC, 1032 Fourth Ave., Ford City.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, at Christ, Prince of Peace Parish.  Interment will follow in Lawn Haven Burial Estates.  To share memories or condolences, please visit www.welchfh.com.
