Melanie Kay Shaffer

Melanie Kay Shaffer, 72, of Kittanning, died Wednesday, September 8, 2021, in the comfort of her home.

Born June 10, 1949, in Kittanning, she was a daughter of the late Samuel George and Phyllis J. (Shick) Walker.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Kittanning, and had worked at Big River Manufacturing.

Melanie enjoyed sewing, playing cards, baking, and gardening.

Surviving are her children: Jeffrey Neale Shaffer and Laura Kay Shaffer, both of Kittanning; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Dennis Walker of Worthington.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Jack Shaffer, on February 16, 2010; a sister, Sandra Johnson; and three brothers, John, Samuel, and Vince Walker.
