Michael Allen Ridley

Michael Allen Ridley, 53, of Saltsburg (formerly of Cadogan), died unexpectedly on Sunday, October 27, 2024.

Born March 17, 1971, in Kittanning, he was the son of Walter A. Ridley, Jr., who survives, and the late Katherine “Diane” (Smith) Ridley.

Mike was employed as a salesman for Riverview Homes.

Mike was an avid fan of the Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins.  He played league softball for many years.  Attending his nephews' football games and watching his niece cheer was one of his favorite pastimes.  He coached his niece Katelyn in softball and basketball for many years, and he loved Drake Allen to the moon and back. He loved going to the ocean, and heading to camp with his dad, where they enjoyed playing cards and Monopoly.  Mike loved barbecuing, and was always up for good picnic or fire. Along with his two sisters, they affectionately referred to themselves as "the Three Musketeers".

In addition to his father, he is survived by two sisters: Crystal (Brad) McMillen of Leechburg and Sherry (Jason) Kelsey of Cooksville, TN; nieces and nephews: Katelyn Sabot, Mason McMillen, Jesse McMillen, Emma McMillen (his princess), and Drake McMillen; great-nieces and nephews: Caleb, Mila, Mikhail, Alessi, and Luca; and a dear friend, Dawna “Nunnie” Hockenberry.

In addition to his mother, Mike was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Walter, Sr. and Florine Ridley; his maternal grandparents, Ken and Katie Smith; a nephew, Tanner McMillen; aunts, Shirley Elwood and Lois Santelmo; and uncle, Jim Smith.

Friends will be welcomed from 1-3 and 5-7 p.m. Thursday, at Welch Funeral Service, LLC, 1032 Fourth Ave., Ford City, where a service will immediately follow at 7 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to help with expenses.  To share memories or condolences, please visit www.welchfh.com.
