Nicholas M. Pabst, 40, of Ford City, died unexpectedly on Monday, January 29, 2018, in UPMC Presbyterian.
Born March 22, 1977, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Nicholas "Nick" and Rebecca "Becky" (Zablocki) Pabst, of Ford City, who survive him.
Nick was a member of St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church, Ford City. He enjoyed playing on his laptop and tablet, and watching old TV shows. He loved sports, especially football, racing, and wrestling.
In addition to his parents, Nicholas is survived by his aunts, Alberta Segal, Cathy Gould, Linda Peppler, and Kathy Dryer, and many special cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Walter and Bedelia Zablocki; his paternal grandparents, Nick and Sylvia Pabst; an uncle, Theodore Zablocki; and an aunt, Phyllis Horniak.
Friends will be welcomed from 7 to 9 p.m., Saturday, and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Sunday, in the Welch Funeral Home, 1032 Fourth Ave., Ford City. Prayer service will be held at 9:30 a.m., Monday, in the funeral home, followed by Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m., at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church, with Father John Gribik, officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Ukrainian Cemetery. Parastas service will be conducted at 7 p.m., Sunday, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 514 9th St., Ford City, PA 16226.
