Richard A. "Rick" Lemmon

Richard A. “Rick” Lemmon, 78, of Cadogan, died Monday, April 6, 2026, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.

He was born on February 2, 1948, to the late Allen and Juanita (Rearick) Lemmon, and was a lifelong resident of Cadogan.

A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served in the Vietnam War.  Prior to enlisting, he was a teacher in the Armstrong School District.  After returning home, he was employed by Armstrong Cement, then Allied Barton Security, from which he retired.

Rick enjoying doing Sudoku puzzles, watching “Oak Island”, and spending time with his grandchildren.  He was also an avid sports fan, especially of the Pittsburgh teams.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia “Pat” (Smock) Lemmon; his two sons, John Lemmon (Maureen) of Franklin Park, and Matthew Lemmon (partner, Sari) of Ford City; two grandchildren, Noah and Madelyn Lemmon; a sister, Barbara Harter of Kittanning; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Benjamin Lemmon.

Funeral services will be held privately, with interment in McVille Union Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Orphans of the Storm.  Arrangements are in the care of Welch Funeral Service, LLC, Ford City.  To share memories or condolences, please visit www.welchfh.com.
