Richard E. King, 91, of Ford City, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 22, 2017, at ACMH Hospital.
He was born November 11, 1925, in Ford City, the son of Eugene and Josephine King.
Richard was retired from Eljer Plumbingware in Ford City. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy.
He was an active member of Appleby Manor Presbyterian Church in Ford City, and was an avid woodworker. On April 25, 1947, Richard married Rose Mary Klingensmith. They recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary with family.
Richard will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Rose Mary, daughter and son-in-law Nancy and Gary Panchik of Kittanning; his son, James King of Sandy Lake; a son-in-law, David Livengood of New Bethlehem, and his son Christopher (Kaitlyn and Louie) Livengood; three grandchildren, Kara (Mark) Berger, Andrew (Danielle) Panchik, and Anne Daymut; six great-grandchildren, Zachary and Ella Berger, Allie and Matilyn Panchik, and Coby and Mia Daymut; and his siter, Carol (Ross) Fichthorn.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Livengood.
Our family would like to thank Bill and Myrtle, Arlene, and Millie and Paul, for their kindess and support, and Dr. Joshua Brice and nurses at ACMH for their compassionate care of our beloved Richard.
Friends and family will be received from 10 a.m., Tuesday until the time of service at 11 a.m., at the Welch Funeral Home, 1032 Fourth Ave., Ford City. Rev. Gary Lyon will officiate. Interment will be in Bethel Lutheran Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a contribution to a charity of your choice, or to Appleby Manor Presbyterian Church.
